Dreams Come True
Being a part of the Senior Housing family of communities means adhering to a very special set of values. One of these values is ensuring that our team members get to know each and every one of our residents not only in regards to health care, but also as a unique and vibrant person.
Our goal is to make at least one resident dream come true each month in every one of our assisted living and memory care communities. These dreams can range from modest to elaborate based on the unique experiences and backstories of each individual resident. The stories shared below only offer a glimpse into the vast collection of dreams come true throughout Senior Housing’s history of fulfilling hundreds of resident dreams.
To date, Senior Housing Companies have made over 1,000 Dreams come true.
Arlington Place of Pocahontas
A whole community came together to make Fran’s dream come true! Fran, a resident of Arlington Place of Pocahontas, had a dream to wear a long formal gown and go to a dance with a handsome young man on her arm. Lauri, Manager, mentioned this dream to the Pocahontas Rotary Club asking if anyone knew of any dances in the area which a formal gown would be appropriate. It turned out that the Wild Rose Casino was having a formal that very weekend! Lauri quickly purchased 5 tickets for the event to accommodate Fran, her date, Fran’s daughter; Cyndi, and two of Arlington Place’s Resident Assistants. Wendy Kirchhoff, of Hair Cuts and More, provided a long formal gown, with the permission of Chelsea Kenne of Pocahontas, owner of the gown. New Impressions opened their doors the day of the Prom to do Fran’s hair and nails. Our Culinary Coordinator volunteered her husband, David, as Fran’s date. David was more than happy to ask Fran on a date for the evening. Fran of course said yes! David, just so happened to have a friend named Matt Welter, owner of Party in Motion, and was able to get a limousine for the evening. Matt graciously donated the limousine and his time to make this dream come true! Fran was ecstatic when David presented her with a rose and as
ked her to accompany him. She had such a great time, they didn’t return until Midnight!
