Allen Phillips, President – August 2017
August is a busy time in the Assisted Living industry, especially in Iowa. Many families who have been waiting to move until the end of summer are scheduling tours and reserving apartments before the first signs of winter appear. As industry veterans, we try to encourage interested parties to make their selection before the “fall rush” when our communities have limited availability. If you’ve been considering a move to a retirement living community, it may be in your best interest to pick out your apartment now to guarantee it will be available for you this winter. All too often, we see families wait too long and miss out on an opportunity to move before the weather turns cold. I think we all agree that the thought of moving during a snowstorm or subzero Midwest temperatures is enough to send a chill down your spine… even in August!
This time of year is also when the Iowa Assisted Living Association (IALA) hosts its annual conference, offering invaluable training, resources and networking opportunities. Every one of our Senior Housing Communities sends community representatives to this two-day conference which focuses on developing the skills in our team member “toolkits.” We are proud to be a part of this organization and know that the education received during this conference reflects in the hospitality, care and services offered in each of our communities. It’s always been our goal to not become stagnant and to stay ahead of the curve in order to continue to roll out the red carpet for our residents, staff members and visitors.
If you’re wondering where to find a Senior Housing community near you, please visit our “Managed Communities” page. There, you’ll find a visual map of our locations, as well as a full directory with links to their individual websites. Schedule a tour and we’ll provide a free meal with your visit. Be sure to ask us about our Dare to Dream Program, Individualized Service Plans and signature programming! It’s our pleasure to have you as our guest!
